My attempt at making a Filipino Parol

To Quote A Wiki:

"Parols are Christmas ornaments from the Philippines. They are traditionally made out of bamboo and paper although plastics are sometimes preferred and elaborate ones are made from capiz shells. They are traditionally star-shaped, and is thought of to symbolize the star of Bethlehem. They are usually hung outdoors on doors, patios, windows and other. They are the equivalent of Christmas wreaths in the western world. Parols are originally from Paranaque, Manila in the Philippines. They were made with cellophane but originally was from capiz shells." (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parol).

Here is someone's photo gallery with pictures of the real thing: http://photos.the-protagonist.net/Christmas-Parol-Lantern
